SUMMARY:WSET Level 2 Certification in Wine Original
DESCRIPTION:The first class is scheduled for Tuesday\, September 16\, 2025 at 6.15 pm and for eight weeks following\, through Tuesday\, November 4.  This qualification has a minimum requirement of 28 hours of study time\, including 16 hours of classroom time. \nEach class consists of a guided discovery of the syllabus followed by a formal tasting of six WSET specified wines. Students will sit the multiple-choice examination on Tuesday\, November 11\, 2025. \nGain an understanding of the world’s principal and regionally important grape varieties\, the regions where they are grown\, and the styles of wine they produce. You’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.  A detailed overview of the Level 2 Specification is here. \nYou will learn about:\n The art of tasting in detail\n Growing grapes & terroir\n Making & maturing all types of wine\n Classic & regionally important grape varieties\n Major regions in France & Italy\n Key regions in Germany & Spain\n New World wine regions\n Sparkling & Fortified wines\n The art of food & wine pairing \nThe wine courses are run in the seating area Putnam Market\, located at 435 Broadway. Offsite parking is available nearby\, and the Market is a short walk from the bars and restaurants of Saratoga. \nFull payment is charged at the time of registration. Your payment is non-refundable but you can transfer it once to another person or to a future course of the same type\, if you contact us 14 days or more before the start date. In the rare event Putnam Market has to cancel a course you will receive a 100% refund.
