WSET Level 3 Award in Wines
This course has 15 sessions, meeting on Tuesday evenings, plus an exam. The first class is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 6.00 pm. We will meet each Tuesday in July, then pick up the final ten sessions starting Tuesday, September 2. Each class consists of a guided discovery of the syllabus followed by a formal tasting of six WSET specified wines. The exam is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is a highly respected qualification. It is an advanced course that will teach you the art of tasting to the extent that you can identify wines and quality levels in blind tastings.
You will go on a vinous adventure to every major region learning about grape varieties, production methods and appellations. There are no prerequisites for this course, but Level 2 is strongly recommended.
During the WSET level 3 wine course you will learn about:

At the end of the course there is an exam that consists of a blind tasting of two wines, a 50 question multiple choice paper and a 4 question short answer exam. The pass mark is 55% in all 3 papers. We have a very high pass rate for this qualification and are particularly well-equipped to help you prepare for the short answer section.
Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin. The qualification is highly regarded by employers.
The wine courses are run in the café seating area in Putnam Market, located at 435 Broadway. Offsite parking is available nearby, and the Market is a short walk from the bars and restaurants of Saratoga.
Full payment is charged at the time of registration. Your payment is non-refundable but you can transfer it once to another person or to a future course of the same type, if you contact us 14 days or more before the start date. In the rare event Putnam Market cancels a course you will receive a 100% refund.
